Create Competitive Advantages

Competitive market space advantage is distinct to each type of business and each practice location. The number of locations, where they are located, and the types of services that a community will use and the economy of the market are all factors in determining the right types of offerings for a sustainable and growing chiropractic practice.

Creating a competitive advantage often is about making the right choices in the diversity of service offerings in your practice. Many chiropractors have additional services such as a full physical therapy department, with trained therapists in muscle stimulation equipment, stretching and muscle injury recovery exercises, strength training and endurance equipment such as stationary bikes, treadmills and other equipment for patients to utilize with a trainer.

Another competitive advantage is in equipment such as a cryotherapy chamber, so that patients can have immediate pain relief and be comfortable for their adjustments in order for their doctor to achieve a better adjustment. Often times, patients can use cryotherapy in between adjustments in order to have pain relief until they are scheduled for their next adjustment. The competitive advantage of a cryotherapy chamber is being able to take on more patients that are athletes and those suffering from chronic health issues as opposed to other doctors who are merely using adjustments as the only means of sustaining their practice. Multiple revenue streams of complementary treatments is a differentiating factor in sustainable and growing practices.

Many chiropractic offices are including massage therapists, who can see patients at the same time doctors are, so filling the vacant rooms with massage patients on the days in between adjustments can be a competitive advantage as well. Massage therapy can utilize several rooms in a practice, keeping the revenue flowing.

Having a well trained staff and the right software technology can make the chiropractic office pace flow in a faster and more streamlined way, reducing wait times for patients and creating an inviting environment that patients enjoy visiting. This makes the patients flow easier for doctors, and allows for more quality time spent with patients as well as better doctor patient relationships.

Competitive advantages can be achieved through many different options which can be chosen to suit a practice according to size, location and the wellness offering that a doctor would like to help his patients achieve a lifelong wellness plan. Patient trust, practice growth and sustainable treatment options are all the competitive advantages in chiropractic.
